The plot to prevent Jeremy Corbyn, a
lifelong proponent of Palestinian rights, from ever becoming British Prime Minister, has been vicious ever since his election as
leader of the British Labour party. He has been accused of anti-semitism, and
his Party with him, a charge
orchestrated and paid for by Israel (as revealed by a since-suppressed Al
Jazeera documentary), a ridiculous charge that has gained such currency as to
drive normally sensible liberal commentators into a frenzy (see this week’s
effort by Polly Toynbee, of The Guardian,
for example, who descended into semi-hysteria as she denounced Corbyn for
immobilism in face of the meltdown of the British Conservative Party.)
Of course, anti-semitism is a delicate subject, but I think an article published yesterday by Jonathan Cook, in the on-site news outlet Common Dreams, provides the best overall account I have seen of the onslaught on Corbyn. The whole article can be read here.https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/07/04/plot-keep-jeremy-corbyn-out-power
