Weighing in the balance, in humnan rerms, the need of technicians in Hollywood for work against the need of people in Haiti, virtually deprived of everything because Wsterners, iver he generations have stripped the country bare --- well, I'm not sure this question stands at the centre of this argument, but if it did, I think there is no doubt where the greater need exists. In this corner I believe that only work creates wealth, or should create wealth, and in that equation the pile of resources in one corner against the impoverishment in the other tells its own story. Both corners are working....boyce richardsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14166421633433425789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4497840216476810829.post-41598092567090378952010-07-19T23:06:57.041-04:002010-07-19T23:06:57.041-04:00Leaving issues of quality aside, doesn't the m...Leaving issues of quality aside, doesn't the making of an expensive movie provide work for a lot of people? Aren't all the people listed in the credits happy to have the work?

P.S. Happy to see you back. I had given up on airset.andreanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4497840216476810829.post-41375989356072536232010-07-19T22:09:15.986-04:002010-07-19T22:09:15.986-04:00Many thanks Wilma and macadavy. It is encouraging to get some feedback so quickly --- even before I am really certain how to handle all these things, comments, replies, followers and the like. For myself, I find I do this all the time. A news item that my country is about to blow billions on new jet fighter aircraft: "In Canada, the Department of National Defence reports it will spend about $9 billion for its 65 F-35s. That works out to about $138.5 million per aircraft. The cost could double when a maintenance contract is added." only makes me think: How many units of affordable social housing would that build? Or how many new schools or hospitals would that build? Thanks for pointing this out.macadavyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12389495369365209004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4497840216476810829.post-76469075044818594612010-07-19T13:10:06.207-04:002010-07-19T13:10:06.207-04:00Thanks for this.
